I remember the story about an old hermit and his son who lived far back in the mountains, away from any other human beings.The boy had never seen another person besides his father.On the boy’s 18th bbirthday,his father decided to take him to town to give him the first taste of civilization.Walking down the street,they passed a couple of pretty girls and the boy in amazement said “what in the world are those?” The old man was caught off guard ,”Er,Uh………That’s nothing,son, “he said,just a couple of geese”.The boy seemed to accept the explanation.So they went on.They both spent the full day browsing the town,visiting livery stables,saw-mill and the blacksmith shop.At last they decided to held for home.But before they left,his father said, “son I’d like to give you a birthday gift.Did you see anything here that you’d like to have?” “sure”,the boy said, “I want a couple of geese!”
From this story we discovered that no matter who you are, or your background,we were all created to have affection for the opposite sex.So originally,God made male and female to have mutual bond of sexual relationship.
SEXUAL DRIVE
God made us sexual creature.Infact,one of the first instruction to man from God was to be fruitful and multiply(Gen1:28 ).A wise man said "when the purpose of a thing is unknown abuse is inevitable" .
If whenever ones buys a machine it is usually advisable to read the manual before using it. Imagine someone buys a petrol generator and goes on to put diesel inside it, the generator will likely get damaged.
Prov. 4:7 says, ‘wisdom is the principal thing’ therefore get wisdom in all your doing and endeavor, get understanding. when you pursue understanding you end up being outstanding, not understanding the purpose of sex has robbed many of their colorful destiny
Everything in this world, operates within certain principles and rules. Sex has its own rules and principles written by the architect and the designer himself(GOD).
Lets embark on this journey to unravel the mystery of the sexual dimension of man.
THE 3 DIMENSION OF SEX
1. The body- Sex involves the body. 1cor. 6:18 says flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body vs 16 says ‘or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her.
Sex is a glue, It binds the body of both party to form one. Some people are carrying over six different bodies inside them because they have slept with 6people. They are carrying multiple bodies inside their own body. That’s why its possible to contact sexual transmitted disease like H.I.V during sex because it involves the body. Know this today, your body is joined to anyone you have sex with. Fornication is a punishment against your body in ignorance. You are wounding your body. Your body is designed to carry only one additional load which is your spouse but you can imagine someone that has been joined to 6 different bodies. That’s called an overload and it is dangerous. Sex affects your body.
2. The soul- do you know it is possible to loose your soul? How you ask me? The bible says ‘what will it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose your soul’? The soul of a man is his greatest asset and that is what the devil wants to steal. The devil will give you anything in exchange for your soul, that is how valuable your soul is. But the problem is we don’t know how valuable it is.
Prov. 6:32 says ‘whoever commits adultery with a woman LACKS understanding. He who does so destroys his own soul. Don’t let sex outside marriage destroy your soul. Your soul is more than just your emotions, it is the essence of your being. Eze 18:4b says, ‘… Behold all souls are mine… the soul who sins shall die’
When you have sex with someone, it not only bounds your soul with the person’s soul it sets you on the path of destruction. Do you prefer to sell your eternal soul for enjoyment of 5mins like Esau who sold his birthright for a bowl of porridge. Your soul is more important than anything. KEEP IT WELL. Prov. 6:26 says, ‘For by means of a harlot a man is REDUCED to a crust of bread. And an adulteress will prey upon his own precious life.
3. Your spirit- What do you think of your spirit? Prov. 20:27 says ‘ the spirit of man is the lamp of the lord. Searching all the inner depth of him. Sex is not just a physical thing , it is also a spiritual thing. 1Cor. 7:34 says, ‘The unmarried man cares about the thing of the lord , that she may be holy both in spirit and body
Sexual sin affects the spirit. When Adam and eve sinned, the glory of God left them and they discovered they were naked. Ex. 10:8 says, ‘…Whoever breaks through a wall the serpent will bite, when someone commits a sexual sin, he/she opens up his or her spirit to attack by enemy. Prov. 25:28 says, ‘whoever has no rule over his own spirit, is like a city broken down without walls.
Your spirit needs divine covering but the moment one commits a sexual sin that covering and protection is removed, hereby giving room for the enemy to come and steal and destroy ones destiny.
